Week 1 vs. WXRT:
Actual text I received from a friend yesterday "I Thought "Love Shack" was reserved for weddings only? better question, why do I still listen to XRT?"
So in honor of you CP, I take on "93XRT", Chicago's AAA station WXRT/93.1. AAA is an industry term for Album Adult Alternative.
From Tuesday 5/25, after the noon commercial break, I present 10 from XRT:
12:23 Creedence Clearwater Revival "Down On the Corner"
12:25 Fray "You Found Me"
12:29 Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (are made of this)"
12:33 Backyard Tire Fire "roadsong #39"
12:37 Nirvana "all apologies (unplugged)"
12:41 Tom Morello/The Nightwatchmen "whatever it takes"
BREAK
12:52 Santana "smooth/ featuring Rob Thomas"
12:57 Green Day "restless heart syndrome"
1:01 Who "behind blue eyes"
1:05 Staind "it's been a while"
My shuffle from Apple TV:
Joseph Arthur "enough to get away"
Our Lady Peace "innocent"
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah "home on ice"
Buffalo Tom "walking wounded"
Stephen Malkmus "pencil rot"
Graham Coxon "R U lonely?"
Smoking Popes "need you around"
Papas Fritas "TV movies"
Nirvana "lithium"
The Wedding Present "palisades"
For the music fan who falls somewhere between "skinny jeans" and "dockers". Do you listen to the Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel for the 13,675th time on your local radio station just in hopes of hearing the new Black Keys song? Then we can help. Do you have to Google bands that are on Yo Gabba Gabba? Then you can be saved. When people ask what new music you're digging, are the only songs that come to mind "the one from that commercial"? Then we'll point you in the right direction.

the most amazing thing is that xrt did not play Peter Gabriel in that 42 minute span
ReplyDeleteglad to have inspired you todd, nice work. megan that 42minute span was bracketed by Red Rain and Solisbury Hill
