CHIRP Radio
These guys are going to kick my ass. I'm being honest about my shuffle and posting whatever happens to comes up in the order it shuffles (unless it's a blank hidden track or something like that). Chirp has a great library and a tendency to pick the right combo of songs.
so here we go:

10:02 Boscoe - "If I Had My Way"
10:07 Jamie Lidell - "I Can Love Again"
10:09 Arab Strap - "Here We Go"
10:14 Kate Bush - "The Big Sky"
10:20 The Gaslight Anthem - "Stay Lucky"
10:23 The Hold Steady - "The Swish"
10:27 Led Zeppelin - "Four Sticks"
10:33 The Depreciation Guild - "November"
10:37 The Strokes - "Reptilia"
10:43 Kurt Vile - "The Finder"

My shuffle from Macbook ITunes 11:00 a.m. 6/18/2010
Land of the El Caminos - "Keep On" (old friend's band)
D Generation - "Falling" (worked this band)
Vijay Kishore - "Never Ends" (who?)
De La Soul - "Buddy" feat./Jungle Brothers/Q Tip (yes!)
Louis Armstrong - "Hello, Dolly"
Barenaked Ladies - "Sound of Your Voice" (meh)
Pavement - "Stop Breathin" (Pitchfork!!!!!!!)
The Fiery Furnaces - "Sweet Spots" (a little bit overlooked)
John Scofield & Pat Matheny - "Quiet Rising" (way to bring it down :( )
Neil Diamond - "You Baby"
The Style Council - "Life at a Top People's Health Farm"
Yup, I lost. surprisingly not by much though.
what's your shuffle of the day?
For the music fan who falls somewhere between "skinny jeans" and "dockers". Do you listen to the Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel for the 13,675th time on your local radio station just in hopes of hearing the new Black Keys song? Then we can help. Do you have to Google bands that are on Yo Gabba Gabba? Then you can be saved. When people ask what new music you're digging, are the only songs that come to mind "the one from that commercial"? Then we'll point you in the right direction.

So, I am in the Land of the El Caminos right now -- i must have seen 4 or 5 today. Which caused Grandaddy's "El Caminos in the West" to go through my head all day. pat matheny-neil diamond-style council sequence is blowing my mind.
ReplyDeletei'm not sure if neil diamond adds points to your score or not... i say it does. and you get points for not knowing a band in your shuffle, i love when that happens!
